Bill Conti

[1942 -] American pianist and composer. After years living as a musician, playing in night clubs, Conti began his film career composing tracks for low-budget films like Harry and Tonto (1974) and Next Stop Greenwich Village (1976). The success would come with the award for the film Rocky (1976) and the natural exposure of its soundtrack that had such success in the period.

Conti followed as a low-profile composer, without much exposure even after outcomes as the Oscar awarded The Right Stuff (1983). Other credits include the jazzy romanticism in An Unmarried Woman (1978), For Your Eyes Only (1981), the modern jazz of I the Jury (1982) and the synthetic music for Year of the Gun (1991). The link with Stallone's career extended to Rocky II (1979) and also Paradise Alley (1978), FIST (1978) and Locked Up (1989). For years, Bill Conti made the musical direction and regency in the Oscar ceremonies.
