Black Emanuelle Groove

Music by Nico Fidenco

Collection dedicated to the Black Emanuelle series, starred by Laura Gemser and that reached a reasonable success in the period 1975-1979. Black Emanuele gave composer Nico Fidenco the chance to experience a lot in composing the serie´s scores.

Oriented to pop music, but giving room to anything-goes on arrangements where what values most is the kitsch-atmospheric packaging, Fidenco´s scores are unique. Putting together themes of four films in the series, the Black Emanuelle Groove collection opens with an undisputed classic of the genre: the theme of Emanuelle in America (1976), in which female vocals whispering and violin lines circulate in successive waves for exotic/erotic climate. Cooking a little bit of everything in the same pot, Fidenco hits the point of sounding musically enjoyable despite the constant feeling that not everything is in right place. So we hear tropical ballads and pop swings with languid trumpet soloing over ethnic percussion, Hawaiian guitars echoing between sexy voices, electric pianos over romantic violins, and so on. In its glorious kitschness, the collection is a unavoidable record of the best grade B 70´s cinema.
