Remarkable thriller directed by Nicolas Roeg Don´t Look Now (1973) was a horror film that exceeded the borders of the genre in explore human dramas (with little or no supernatural interference) in one of the scariest movies ever made.

The soundtrack was the first Pino Donaggio work for the cinema and in a curious proposal works as anticipation to the script with its romantic delicacy and melancholy mood. The fragility of relationships between the characters and the of the very existence is suggested with perfection in Donaggio´s beautiful music. With a small instrumental group the soundtrack basically uses strings, flute and piano, alternating electronic effects. The delicacies of John’s Theme and Bachian developments of Laura’s Theme are perfect and, with its fragility, support the atmosphere of constant threat that features so strongly the movie. A remarkable work in its simplicity and effectiveness that, not surprisingly, secured a solid career in film for Pino Donaggio.
