Fatevi Vivi
Music by Piero Piccioni
Fatevi Vivi (1974) is a thriller about kidnappings, an issue much frequent in the criminal activity in Italian society of the 70's.
Starting on the lounge mood of the opening theme, Kidnap, the music infiltrates the movie´s narrative gradually highlighting the suspense in the syncopated movements of Agguato or the drama in Lovely Mood. But Fatevi Vivi does not have the charge and urgency that characterized so many scores of the polizioteschi films. Rather Piccioni works on sound restraint avoiding the dramatic excesses usual in Italian production, so the main point of the soundtrack is instrumental clarity, with all due importance to flutes, basses and strings. Even efficient in suspense and action passages, the trail is a remarkable work in sound elegance.
