The Mothman Prophecies
Music by Tomandandy
"We try to create a soundscape in which music and sound design collide" - Mark Pellington, director
Climatic and invariably mysterious The Mothman Prophecies (2001) is probably the best moment of double electronic Tomandandy. The profusion of colors and climates that highlighted the respectable thriller directed by Mark Pellington, is even more impressive if heard separately from the film.
From moments of pop discretion to others pure abstraction, the soundtrack consists of eight suites (of 4-9 minutes). Passages as Seeing Strange Things (Suite 2) or Zone of Fear (suite 3) detach the work above the average that often orients similar soundtracks. On the threshold between music and sound design The Mothman Prophecies is a respectable soundtrack in synthetic alternative. In Colosseum double edition the companion CD includes the closing theme, Half Light (group Low with Tomandandy) and themes of the alternative rock band King Black Acid (resembling David Gilmour on some tracks). The edition also includes Collage of experimentalist Glenn Branca. A great work in techno-elegance.
