Non Ho Sonno
Music by Goblin
"Goblin showed once again that they can understand the thoughs of a director and turn them into music that stands somewhere between the peaceful serenity of a love theme and the horror of a macabre death scene" - Dario Argento
Reunited again for the soundtrack of Non Ho Sonno (Sleepless, 2000), group Goblin returned to its musical concept of the early days.
As the director Dario Argento revisited the foundations of the genre thriller and the visual puzzles that made him famous, the group made a nice comeback to the sound models that were so effective in the mid-70s. So it very present in Non Ho Sonno, hard rock passages (Death Farm), progressive rock (Ulisse), electric basses and the infallible gothic touch on the keyboard chords and scales (the main theme). Best of all is that the music is consistent for its own merit and does not just mimic old models. Great moments accumulate track to track as the electronic tricks on Killer on the Train, the sampled whispers of The Cat, and intense climate of Arpeggio. A soundtrack that summarizes all the group´s work.
